While most upcoming projects are fully staffed, we are always looking to meet interesting people. 

Typically, positions are hired directly by the theatrical producers under the advisement of MWLD, which means that the rates vary from project to project and city to city. If there is a specific position for a specific project listed below, it will always include a rate and other pertinent benefit details. MWLD is a strong believer in pay transparency, wage equality, and union benefits.

For all positions, please include a resume as well as anything else you think would be useful to get to know you, your experience, and your goals. 

 

  • Assistant Lighting Designers
    • Experience working in a professional theatrical lighting setting, working with customary software, hardware, etc
      • (ETC Eos, Vor, Vectorworks, Lightwright, Google Suite, FileMaker, Clear-Com, etc) 
    • Experience designing & calling followspots for musical theatre, including the creation of necessary tracking and cue paperwork
    • Experience working with IATSE crews and leading technicians in work and focus notes
    • Experience in theatrical lighting paperwork, documentation, and archival processes.

 

  • Draftspeople
    • Expert-level Vectorworks and Lightwright experience
    • 2D & 3D drafting experience working in a collaborative project environment with multiple departments, files, etc. 
    • Comfort working between and converting between different file types, including DWG, SKP, VWX, C2P, and other 2D and 3D drafting standards. 

 

  • 3D Vis/Modelers 
    • Experience building 3D models of scenery, venues, and lighting rigs from 2D plans/drawings in Sketchup, Vectorworks, or other similar software
    • Experience setting up Capture models and lighting rigs for lighting previsualization from various sources including scenic drawings, venues, lighting plots, etc. 
    • Experience working with, creating, and maintaining Augment3D models
